Albert R. "Al" Hoffman, age 93, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at a local healthcare facility. Al was born on September 28, 1921 in Omaha, Nebraska, to the late Charles and Elizabeth Peterson Hoffman, and had lived in Bradley County since the fall of 1998. He was a combat wounded WWII veteran who served his country in the United States Army and a member of North Cleveland Church of God. Al never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with everyone he met especially family and friends. He also loved fixing things around the house and spending time outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Hoffman; son, Steven Hoffman; and brothers, Charles and John Hoffman. He is survived by his children, Marsha Hoffman-Vaile of Jacksonville, Florida, Gregg Hoffman and wife Michaela of Omaha, Nebraska; and Ceslie Beil and husband Tom of Warner Robins, Georgia. Eleven grandchildren, thirteen geat-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive. A Celebration of Life and Home going for Al Hoffman will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Travis Porter officiating. Entombment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens concluded with military honors. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
