Rev. Wendell Alan Cordell, age 74, resident of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family. Over the course of his life. He had been a licensed minister in the Church of God. He was also a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and had received his Mortuary Science College degree from Wayne State. He was employed by NASA at the Red Stone Arsenal. He also worked at Covenant Transport in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Garden Lee Cordell and Edna Mae Cordell, as well as Joe Lindsey (biological father) and his wife Hazel Lindsey. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Mae Dalton Cordell, Cleveland, TN; children, Wendell Alan Cordell, Jr., Elkhart, IN, Aaron Dalton (A.C.) and wife, Shawna, Cordell, Berea, KY, Blaine Andrew and wife, Stacey, Cordell, Cleveland, TN and Lorinda Ruth French and fiance', Richard Davis; grandchildren, Jamie Cordell Szpur and husband, Darek, Kimberly Cordell-Minor and Nathon Minor, Paige Cordell and fiance' Coy Green, Jacolby Cordell, Zachary French, Jaelyn Cordell, Ashlyn French, Taylor Oschwald, Lyndsey Cordell, Ian Cordell, Landon Oschwald, Paxton Cordell and Izabella Cordell; great grandchildren, Sahara Minor, Morgan Szpur, Jasmen Szpur, Hunter Green and Alorah Szpur; brothers and sisters, Judy Lunsford, Sandra Derrick, Bill Cordell, Donna Bailey, Gary Cordell, David Byrd, Bill Lindsey, Jerry Lindsey, Bobby Lindsey, Ray Lindsey, Betty Parris and Doris Pettigrew. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. A celebration of the life and home going of Rev. Cordell will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Harvest in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Hank Davis, Pastor Mitch Maloney and Pastor Mark Sarver officiating. Interment will be private.
