Alice Goins

Alice Dixson Goins, age 99 ½ , resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016, in a local healthcare facility. A native of Bradley County, she was a member of Tasso United Methodist Church for over 55 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden E. Goins and parents, Arthur E. Dixson and Adrie Ash Dixson. Siblings, Chass, Elsie and Arthur Dixson.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Goins Long, Chatsworth, GA and one son and daughter in law, Eddie and Nancy Goins, Cleveland, TN; 6 grandchildren, Eddie Long, Jr., Candace Sexton, Mitzi Gazaway, Magan Waldrop, Angela Marthaler, Leah Hammock and Corey Davenport. 11 great grandchildren and one cousin, Bell Rush, Ocoee, TN.

A Celebration of the Life and Home Going of Alice Goins will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Tasso United Methodist Church. Her body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow in Tasso Cemetery.

The family request in lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Tasso Cemetery Association.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 4, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home who has charge of arrangements. Mark S. Grissom funeral director.
