Marva Lee Davis

Marva Lee (DeLana) Davis, age 84, of Cleveland, TN, ushered into the presence of her Savior on December 27, 2016.

Marva was born in McAlester, OK on February 15, 1932 and met and married the love of her life, Rev. James Thomas Davis Sr. on December 31, 1950.  During the next 66 years, they were blessed with three children, Brenda Christine Davis, Henry Keith Davis, James Thomas Davis Jr; eight grandchildren, Andrew Michael Davis, Carissa Kaylee Davis-Hillwig, Courtney Janee' Mercado, Katelyn Christine Davis, Bethany Mae Davis, Christine Davis, Melyssa and Gage Davis; five great grandchildren, Corbyn Alexandra Hillwig, Bailee Mercado, Skilar Esther Mercado, Cooper Thomas Hillwig and Leif Davis.

Also, during their 66 years together Marva worked alongside her husband in ministry with the Church of God. Since her husband’s retirement from ministry, Marva and her husband were members of South Cleveland Church of God.

Marva was predeceased by her parents, Marion and Marvin DeLana; four brothers and one sister.

Besides her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Marva is survived by one sister.

A Celebration of Marva’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016, in the chapel of Grissom-Serenity Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Moody and Rev. Hank Davis officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will take place on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Edwin Lipsey officiating.
