Eliza H. Browder

Eliza Hundley Browder, 79, of Englewood, and formerly Athens, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, October 16. 

“Grandma Liza” or “Sisa” as she was affectionately known, was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend blessed with kindness, common sense, and respect for others. 

Eliza worked as an administrative assistant for the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office and the Athens City Schools prior to her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Mayer, of Anacortes, Washington.

She is survived by her son, Cullen Browder, of Cary, North Carolina, his wife, Ela, and their children, Michael and Elizabeth; daughter, Allison Leonard, of Cleveland, Tennessee, her husband, J.J., son, Travis and daughter, Abigail; grandchildren, Will Mayer, of Los Angeles, California, and Eliza Mayer of Burlington, Vermont; brothers Robbie Hundley of Danville, Kentucky and Tom Hundley of Louisville, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

A Gathering of Friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21,, 2017 at Serenity of Cleveland Funeral Home, 3010 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland. 

 The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.
