Nola Ruth Crisp, age 89, of Charleston passed away January 24, 2018 at her home.
Nola was born June 10, 1928 in Roan Mountain, TN to Lewis and Nell Street. She was a member of the Odoms Chapel Church in Bakersville, NC. She lived for her children sacrificing so much for her family. She took pride in her home as well as having a love for flowers. Nola always had a Sunday Dinner cooked and ready for anyone who wanted to come by. She truly knew how to love and to give to everyone.
Nola was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Price Crisp; parents, Lewis and Nell McNeil Street; brothers, Marshall Street, Gary Street; sisters, Geneva Honeycutt, Viola Street; granddaughter, Crystal Crisp; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Burleson, Willie Ollis, Vernon Edwards; sons-in-law, Phillip Sneed, Al Kimsey.
She is survived by her children, Sherrill Crisp (Andrea) of Georgetown, Carolyn Jenkins (Dale) of Cleveland, Pamela Arp (Jerry) of Charleston, Hardy Crisp of Charleston, Teresa Nix (Mike) of Cleveland; sisters, Lou Cook, Virginia Burleson, Ethel Ollis; brother-in-law, Cecil Burl Crisp, sister-in-law, Marcella Street.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home of Cleveland on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Anthony Howard officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Barry Arp, Mandy Arp, Jeff Kimsey, Bradley Sneed, Greg Sneed, Kevin Crisp, Adam Crisp, and Mark Crisp.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
