John Eben McBrien, Jr.

September 24, 1931 — June 8, 2018

John “Eben” McBrien, Jr., age 86 of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center. Born on September 24, 1931 in Calhoun,Tennessee he spent four years in the United States Air Force after graduation from Calhoun High School. He returned home to begin a career of analog communications as an installer for Western Electric. He retired after 36 years as a quality consultant with AT&T. Several years after retirement he made the Blue Springs Community of Cleveland  his home.

 He was preceded in death by his wife , parents, and three sisters.

 “ Mr. Eben” is survived by his only daughter, Brenda K. Mabry and son-in-law, Trip Mabry; three granddaughters, Cam, Aimee, and Katy; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews residing in Florida.

 The family wishes to extend their appreciation to The AT&T  Retiree Breakfast Club because he enjoyed his time with them.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018  at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. There will be no formal visitation held.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider memorials to Hospice of Chattanooga.
